Fuschia MacAree at the Bernard Shaw, Dublin 2
Blessings and Curses is the first solo exhibition of uber-talented illustrator Fuschia MacAree. It runs for three weeks in the Bernard Shaw in Portobello, do go if you can.

31 October:
Eva Franch at IMMA @ the NCH, Dublin 2
As part of the Irish Architecture Foundation's series of talks entitled Agents of Architecture, director of New York's Storefront for Art and Architecture Eva Franch comes to Dublin to speak on the evening of 31 October. The event is free but booking is essential here.


The 100 Design Archive

1 November:
Rocker Lane 1st Birthday at Budda Bag, Dublin 1
Rocker Lane Workshop is a design studio that specialises in furniture made entirely from reclaimed maple floor boards. Their range of furniture is now being expanded to include maple picture frames and to celebrate the studio's first birthday, Rocker Lane are teaming up with Yellowhammer, Fergus O'Neill and Pony to produce limited edition prints available from 1 November in a pop-up space in Budda Bag, Millenium Walkway.

3 - 16 November:
Design Week - Paul Rand at Ebow Gallery, Dublin 2
The guys at Curate and Design present their second exhibition entitled Don't Try to be Original, Just Try to be Good: The Graphic Design of Paul Rand as part of this year's Design Week. Supported by over 90 people on Fund It, this exhibition explores Rand's iconic work and the influence he had not only on American graphic design but design everywhere.

5 - 11 November:
Design Week - Seven/Eleven at the Irish Design Shop, Dublin 2
Another highlight from this year's Design Week programme is Seven/Eleven, a series of prints made by Keep Sketch and its collaborators that will be launched in the Irish Design Shop on 5 November. Seven illustrators and designers take each day in Design Week and create a print that celebrates that date in history. Each print is produced in editions of 30 and will be for sale in the Irish Design Shop for €20 each.

Doodle 4 Google
If you or someone you know is a school student who loves drawing, design and invention, take a look at the entry process for this year's Doodle 4 Google competition. This competition - open to students all over the country from Junior Infants right up to 6th year - gives budding illustrators and designers the opportunity to create a Google doodle based on the theme 'My Invention' and the winning doodle will feature on the Irish Google homepage for 24 hours and the student wins a whole heap of other prizes for themselves and their school!
